Anyone Want a Lollipop?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things. Galatians 5:22-23 CSB

A second grader playing on his mother's phone secretly ordered 70,000 Dum-Dum lollipops from Amazon!

Imagine the mother's surprise when thirty boxes of lollipops arrived. To make matters worse, all that candy added up to almost $4200!

Our desires can get us in trouble. Too much candy, too much spending, and too much shopping can yield heartache, headaches, and even toothaches!

What we need is self-control.

But that's the issue, isn't it? We struggle with controlling all these desires.

We must remember that self-control isn't totally left up to us. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. We must yield control to Him and cooperate with what He's doing in our lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come today acknowledging my great need for Your work in my life. Please fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me live out the fruit of the Spirit today. For Your glory and my good, I pray this, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
