I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. Psalm 50:11 NKJV
The results are in for the Bird Photographer of the Year, and the winner’s photo is incredible! You can see it, along with more of the winning shots, here.
Some people are really into birds, and others barely notice them, unless they shoo them away or curse them for messing up their clean car! But God notices them. In fact, Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.” (Matthew 6:26)
Later in Matthew, He adds these words: “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.” (Matthew 10:29) In both instances, Jesus is making the point that if God feeds and cares for birds, how much more will He do the same for us?
When we are tempted to worry, we need to remember that God is our Caregiver. If you don’t believe me, ask the birds.
Dear Heavenly Father, I stand amazed at Your care for Your creation. From the ants to the birds to the creatures in the sea and beyond, You lovingly provide. Thank You for caring for me. When I am tempted to worry, help me to worship and trust instead. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
