He Watches Over Us
The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 121:7-8 NLT
Most of us take driving somewhere for granted. We hop in our cars, speed away, and expect to arrive safely at our destination. We forget or ignore the fact that accidents are a real possibility. BudgetDirect decided to hire a firm to map out the most dangerous road in every country. In the United States, I-45 in Texas gets that distinction, claiming 56.5 lives for every 100 miles of pavement!
I don't bring this up to make you fearful of travel. I mention it because we often take for granted the safety that God provides to us daily. I love what the Psalmist shares in Psalm 121:7-8. He reminds us that it is the Lord who watches over us and protects us. This is true not just on the road, but everywhere we go.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your constant watchcare over me. I recognize today that You have preserved my life countless times, and I was unaware of it. Thank You for life, and for preserving it. I trust You as I travel through today. In Jesus' mighty Name, I pray, Amen.
