Believe it or not, saying "please" or "thank you" can cost millions! At least if you're talking to AI chatbots.
OpenAI CEO tech billionaire Sam Altman says it costs him tens of millions of dollars, but it may be money well spent. Kurtis Beavers noted that "using polite language sets a tone for the response." Interestingly, 67% of those surveyed in the US reported being nice to the chatbots.
While the Scripture doesn't give us specific directions concerning etiquette when conversing with computers or robots, it does have much to say about our interactions with others. One such instruction is what we often call "The Golden Rule." Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
In our world of hurry, kindness goes a long way. Saying "please" and "thank you" only costs a second or two of our time, but it is undoubtedly well worth it.
Dear Father in Heaven, You've instructed us in Your Word to be kind to one another. Please help us to obey that command today. Also, please help us to be thankful to You, and to those who serve us. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.
