Not Hidden
7 Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there. 9 If I fly on the wings of the dawn and settle down on the western horizon, 10 even there your hand will lead me; your right hand will hold on to me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me, and the light around me will be night”— 12 even the darkness is not dark to you. The night shines like the day; darkness and light are alike to you. Psalm 139:7-12 CSB
She's been missing for 60 years and has recently been found! But it turns out, she wasn't kidnapped; she simply walked away and never returned. Audrey Backeberg has remained hidden all this time and is choosing to remain that way.
In our world filled with modern technology, it is not easy to remain hidden. But even if we could, there is One Who always knows where we are. Even when we were growing in our mother's womb, He saw us (Ps. 139:15-16)! For the child of God, this reality can be comforting and convicting.
It is comforting to know that no matter where we find ourselves, He is there. It is also convicting to realize that He sees everything we do (even the sinful thoughts we think). Our God is great and greatly to be praised. Rest in His presence, and ask for His forgiveness when you fail. He knows you fully and still loves you completely.
Father, Thank You that although I am fully known, I am also fully loved by You. Thank You for seeing me, thinking about me, and guiding me. May Your presence reassure me and cause me to repent when I sin. I pray this in Jesus' holy Name, Amen.
