What A Day That Will Be!
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4 NKJV
In the last 5 days, I have made pastoral visits to six different hospitals. At the time of this writing, two patients are still in the hospital, two have been discharged, and one is now in heaven.*
The verse above is a precious promise that we need to remember.
Right now, we live in a broken world with broken bodies, but one day that’s all going to change. For those who have Jesus as Savior, there is a hope that keeps us going even on the toughest days: no more sickness, sorrow, pain, or even tears. Hallelujah!
Growing up, we used to sing this old song:
There is coming a day When no heartaches shall come No more clouds in the sky No more tears to dim the eye All is peace forevermore On that happy golden shore What a day, glorious day that will be Chorus What a day that will be When my Jesus I shall see When I look upon His face The One who saved me by His grace Then He’ll take me by the hand And lead me through the Promise Land Oh what a day, glorious day that will be
I'm looking forward to that day, aren't you?
Dear Heavenly Father, Today we pray for those who are weeping, sick, in pain, and filled with sorrow. May Your comfort encourage and strengthen them. We also plead for those who do not know You, please save them. Thank You for the precious promise of a day when we will be broken no longer. Even so come, Lord Jesus. In Your Name We pray, Amen.
*I know the math doesn't add up at first glance, but one patient was in two different facilities
